Rishi Khiani quits Times Internet and start his own venture

Rishi Khiani, Chief Executive Officer, has stepped down from his role at Times Internet Ltd. With effect to his decision, The Times Group has announced the appointment of Satyan Gajwani as the new CEO, who was earlier heading as was the director of new media at the Times Group.

Rishi will continue to stay on with the company till August 17, 2012. He joined Times Internet Ltd as CEO in 2009 moving from Web18, the Internet arm of the Network18 Group, where he was COO.

Earlier, Khiani has served as the CEO of Sidewalks of the World . He joined Web18 after the Network18 group acquired Urban Eye, a digital marketing agency founded by Khiani. He replaced replaced Dinesh Wadhawan who was MD and CEO of Times Internet Ltd up until June 2009.

Commenting on the new development, Gajwani said “We’re sad to see Rishi move on, but excited for his future ahead. Indiatimes has made great progress under his leadership, and I’m excited to take it forward to new and bigger heights. These are big shoes to fill but with such a strong team in place, I’m sure we’ll succeed.”

Satyan Gajwani’s focus till now has been on the Times group’s key digital initiatives, developing content and technology platforms for news, business news, music, video, e-commerce, local, and mobile.
