“If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.”

This seems pretty technical but it is important to understand how Google even knows your website is there. Every webmaster should know that a search engine crawler must be able to “crawl” your site in order for it to be indexed in search engines like Google. In fact the Google webmaster guidelines mention several different times the importance of search engine crawlers being able to crawl your site.
